The mission of the North Carolina Appraisal Board is to protect consumers of real estate services provided by its licensees by assuring that these licensees are sufficiently trained and tested to assure competency and independent judgment. In addition, the Board will protect the public interest by enforcing state law and Appraisal Board rules to assure that its licensees act in accordance with professional standards and ethics. BOARD NEWS Appraiser Renewal Requirements All registered, licensed and certified appraisers are required to have 28 hours of CE, including the 2022-2023 7-Hour National USPAP Update course completed by May 31, 2023, in order to renew on time. The current CE cycle is June 1, 2021 – May 31, 2023. Online renewals for the 2023-2024 licensing year will be permitted in early May for those that have met the CE requirements.
